Debate is one of the most inherently cross-disciplinary learning activity a student can engage in. It employs all the four basic language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students learn how to arrange their thoughts coherently and authoritatively, and employ several 21st Century skills through the use of technology and collaboration. In this class students will get to learn the basics of debate such as terminologies, debating skills, procedures for debate among others. Thereafter, students will enroll for the actual debate club where they will practise the learnt concepts. In a nutshell, students will cover the following in the three lessons: 1. Definition of debate and debate terminologies 2. Procedures of debating and speakers’ roles 3. Benefits of debates 4. Debating skills
