By visiting our website and using the services our platform provides, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and any other policies we publish or link to on our website. If you don’t agree, you must surf elsewhere; we may terminate your use of our website immediately if you breach any terms and conditions.

You must be 18 and over or have parental consent to use our website.

Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions

By using this platform you agree to comply with all the applicable laws and refrain from infringing any third party rights or interests (for example; privacy and intellectual property rights). You must also agree that you will not willingly submit inaccurate, defamatory or offensive content on the platform.

a. Profile-types

We offer 3 kinds of profile-types: Tutor, Parent, Student. Some profile-types may have differing conditions and limitations, which will be disclosed at your sign-up or in other communications made available to you. b. Ownership

The Kidato membership platform is owned and controlled by Kidato.

c. Who can create an account on the platform?

For you to create an account on the platform you need to meet the following criteria:

Parent Account:
  • Parent to one or more children who use the Kidato platform.
  • Must be legally an adult according to the laws of Kenya ie: Above 18 years of age.
  • Student Profile:
  • Account must be created by the Parent Account, students can only access their personalized Student Profile.
  • Must be eligible to the classes the Kidato platform offers.
  • Tutor Account
    • Certified teacher for curriculum based learning
    • Providing a Certificate of Good Conduct.
    • Note: only after being interviewed and on-boarded, tutors can access our tutoring pages!
    • d. How to become a member of Kidato?

      To be a member of Kidato platform, you will need to:

      Create a Parent Profile:

    • Create a personal profile through the Kidato profile portal
    • The Kidato team may collect personal information from the participants during sign-up. This information will include, but is not limited to:
    • Creating a personal profile
    • Parents Name
    • Parents Phone number
    • Gender
    • Age group
    • Location: Country and City
    • Date of birth
    • Adding Student Accounts with academic details for the students such as Curriculum and Subjects.
    • Creating a Student Profile:

    • Student Account has to be made by parent
    • After creating a Student Account by parent, the Student will receive an email invitation to create his/her own profile
    • The Kidato team may collect personal information from the participants during signup. This information will include, but is not limited to:
    • Creating a personal profile

    • Student Name
    • Student Email Address
    • Gender
    • Age group
    • Location: Country and City
    • Date of birth
    • Special interests
    • Creating a Tutor Profile

      Create a personal tutor profile through the Kidato profile portal

      The Kidato team may collect personal information from the participants during signup. This information will include, but is not limited to:

      Creating a personal profile
    • Name
    • Phone number
    • Gender
    • Age group
    • Location: Country and City
    • Date of birth
    • Education: Undergraduate, Graduate and postgraduate
    • Details about professional experience
    • e. Rules of engagement

      Our mission is to offer quality, affordable education.

      The Kidato platform allows parents to:
    • Create Student Accounts and enroll their students to matching, available classes.
    • Enroll to events and Social Activities the Kidato Platform offers
    • The Kidato platform allows students to:
    • Join classes they are enrolled to by their parents.
    • Note: Students can’t enroll and enroll themself. This has to be done by the parent account.
      The Kidato platform allows tutors to:
    • Access all tutoring pages, e.g create (and carry out) classes, lessons and diaries.
    • The admin from the Kidato team will also share Events, Social Activities and Opportunities on the platform, where interested members can enroll.
    • You are responsible for the content you post: this means that you need to ensure that your content does not violate the legal rights of another party on the platform (for example defamation or any applicable laws highlighted on the Kenya Data Protection Law) Negative comments about other members on the platform may lead to expulsion or termination.
    • Honor your commitments: applicable to both the client and service providers in the case of business transactions on the platform.
    • f. Payment terms

      Parents Account:

    • Joining fees: There are no membership fees for Kidato. Parents pay for the classes (and Events) their children are enrolled in. Funds are not refundable.
    • Payment: All payments will be made through M-pesa or Credit Card transactions. Funds are non refundable.
    • Billing Cycle: The length of your billing cycle will depend on the type of billing cycle that you choose when enrolling for our classes; Monthly or per Term - in some specific cases (e.g. Classes with a duration of one week), there is an option for Weekly payment.
    • Tutor Account:

    • Tutors will be paid as agreed in their contract: per lesson and student they tutor. Paid monthly, at the last week of the month.
    • g. Passwords and account access

      The person who created the Kidato membership account (the "Account Owner") has access and control over the membership account and is responsible for any activity that occurs through the account. To maintain control over the account and to prevent anyone from accessing the account (which would include personal and/or company information), the Account Owner should maintain control over the account and not reveal the password or details of the Payment Method associated with the account to anyone. You are responsible for updating and maintaining the accuracy of the information you provide to us relating to your account. We can terminate your account or place your account on hold in order to protect you, Kidato or our partners from identity theft or other fraudulent activity.

      h. Confidentiality/ Data %li.list protection

      Kidato agrees to keep any and all confidential information that is obtained about the member strictly confidential. “Confidential Information” means any information or matter concerning the business, finances, technology, or affairs of the member which are not in the public domain. Kidato respects your right to privacy. We put in place security measures for your personal data and manage your personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations.

      i. Termination

      We may terminate or suspend access to our service immediately, without prior notice or liability for the following reasons but not limited to:

    • A member fails to pay their bills for 3 months consecutively despite numerous reminders
    • A member fails to comply with the terms and conditions highlighted
    • j. Changes to the terms of this Privacy Policy

      Kidato will occasionally make changes and corrections to this terms and conditions policy. If we believe that the changes are material, we’ll let you know by doing one (or more) of the following:

    • (1) posting the changes on this site, or
    • (2) sending you an email or message about the changes. We will also give you the opportunity to consent to these material changes. Changes will be effective upon the posting of the changes and your acceptance of the changes, which may be through your continued use of the site after the changes take effect.
